The coastal town of Spiddal is usually bustling with activity. Both in town and along Galway Bay. No wonder, as a large beach borders directly on the pier. Further east, at the centre of the village, is the old port of Spiddal and on the eastern edge of the village there is another beach called Trá na mBan.
